I don’t quite know how to convey how amazing this wedding was – everywhere you looked were quirky details and people cracking up laughing! We knew after their pre-wedding shoot (where they chucked powder paint all over each other) that these guys were going to have a wedding that was extraordinary and extra personalised to them – we were not wrong!
Becky and John do things their way, which means having a stack of doughnuts topped with a trough of popcorn rather than a cake, Lego Star Wars figurines as button holes, a massive selection of small and giant biscuits on a sweet cart, their own wine – ‘Potter’s Plonk’ and their own ale on tap – much of this was done by themselves too!
Slaidburn Village Hall looked fabulous with decorative paper globes hung from the ceiling of the main hall and in the evening Fabio’s pizza van served the guests the most delicious pizzas from it’s wood fired oven – we had one each at the end of the night and it makes me so hungry looking at the photos of them again, just too tasty to describe! John also handmade Becky a custom pizza with all her favourite toppings – what a legend!
If you hadn’t gathered already fun was a massive part of the day for these guys and so they had some fab games that got everyone involved – welly wanging was particularly amusing to watch, especially when the welly in question ended up going ‘astray’ a few times! The cork throwing tournament was equally fun, it speaks volumes when you can give a group of people a few wine corks, two buckets and a pint glass and they can have massive fun for ages – brilliant ideas and brilliant people!
It’s easy to see how Becky and John can be involved in creative industries – Becky as a photographer (her pictures on the TV slideshow looked so good I just hoped ours would not let the side down!) and John as a cameraman and video editor – they clearly have a natural talent for making things look pretty damn good.
I realise I’ve just basically mentioned all the fun things Becky and John had at their wedding but there was a whole lot of emotion and serious love too, followed by more laughter and doughnuts! Epic!
