Mel and Lewis got married on one of the rainiest days of the year so far, but that didn’t stop them from having one of the most amazing weddings we’ve seen. Jam-packed full of DIY goodness, we had so many great things to photograph!
We first met up with Mel and Lewis shortly after they got engaged, and right from the start they had a clear vision of how they wanted their day to be. Family and friends played a huge part in helping it all come together – from the amazing ceiling trellis made by Mel’s Dad hanging hundred’s of glass jars, the fabulous Bridesmaids dresses, right through to even making their own wedding cake along with countless other wonderful DIY details. Hats off to you guys – you absolutely nailed it!
They got married at Kingdom Hall in Accrington then went on to celebrate in style at Barley Village Hall.
Not only are these guys so fabulously in love, they are great fun and up for anything… they were so keen to get their alone shots outdoors that they braved the downpours, wind and cold… absolute legends!
Here’s the story of their day…

June 16, 2014These are simply stunning shots of a simply beautiful occassion. I can tell that you enjoyed the day almost as much as Mel and Lewis! How wonderful to see two lovely couples so willing to go ‘the extra mile’ to get those once in a lifetime photographs! How you did it on such an atrocious day, I really don’t know!
Well done Foxley Photography!
